Submitted by: Denise Posted: Tuesday, May 30, 2006 Although I'm from the Mississippi Coast and not New Orleans, I want to gripe that there is absolutely no way anyone is going to convince me that Katrina was a Category 3 when she hit us!!! How could we have over 90,000 square miles of total devastation, thousands dead, and a tidal surge on the coast over 30 feet and it be classified as a Category 3? Everyone who was here for Camille says it pales in comparison to Katrina. Is this a ploy by the insurance companies?

Submitted by: Kiana Posted: Tuesday, May 30, 2006 I am from the 9th ward and I am so sad for those people who have died in the Hurricane but you must always remember help is coming so when NO get better were going to go back and enjoy our life as eating crawfish, shrimp; Hot sausage; chinese; and all our other things we eat and do. I was born in the 9th ward but lived in the 7th ward on Lapeyrouse attending schools Locket-9th ward; Morris Jeff-5th ward; and Gregory for 2 weeks when the hurricane hit and it is so sad because it seperates you from your friends and family so always remember stick together I am in Dallas right now but in June I am going to my home town New Orleans.

Black leaders were in New Orleans,when they were allowed entrance into the city. Also, did you ever think to consider, perhaps the media the report on that or may they did and you missed it? What about the other BLACK teachers, students, religious leaders, volunteers, doctors, nurses, even little children who gave their time, tears and muscle to do something. What have you done?It's always people like you who sit there and complain and don't lift the nail on your pinky to do anything but quick to tell someone else what they should do! Get a heart!

We have done some things to help the victims out. Our school is soooo sorry that this has happen we hope and pray that things get better. I am goin to try to leave a comment at least everyday. God is here to help and he is.I have looked at pictures and have cryed it is sad and i have relized how lucky some people are. well got to!

Submitted by: mark Posted: Tuesday, May 30, 2006 though I am not from NO I was there in the aftermath. I snuck in the take my step daughter out when I heard that gunfire was breaking out all over. I am a former marine and have been put those situations many times and knew she could not survive on her own. Im sure if police or national guard had seen me they would have shot me on sight. I was heavly armed in full military gear. I had to finder her by gps and a satalite phone witch she kept in here car. When I found her she was with a small group of people all hiding in a vacant destroid building. they had been comeing under fire all of the day and night before. On the way out we came under heavy gunfire by armed looters. by the time we got to safety I was out of ammo in my rifle and was low in my pistol. We had been shot at by police, looters and I belive coastguard in hellacopters. These are things that saved her life and the other she was hiding with. She kept these things in her car everywere she went. They made it easy to find her. please take note this might save yor life to. 1.GPS 2.cell phone 3.satalite phone 4.first aid kit 5.flares (handheld) 6.flare gun
