I am a junior in high school and I have a severe and consistant problem
with being called a evacuee. I have been through enough and I am fed up. I attend
Sharpstown High School located in Houston, Texas. I also have a major problem being
referred to as a New Orleans child or New Orleans student. At this current time I am
a student of this school and would like to be treated as one, not an outcast.
Although it seems that we "New Orleans chidren" are wearing out our welcome, we
would still like to be excepted.

Isn't it dangerous to leave all of the debris sitting just waiting for
another 150 mph hurrican to whip it into a frenzy? Shouldn't the federal government
not only make sure the levees are rebuilt by june 1 but the debris cleared and
recycled as well?

If so much is being donated, Where's the help? I was told by FEMA in the
begining that relocating would be my best option. I now find myself at the brink of
homelessness with no where to turn. The Redcross tells me of sources such as where
to get clothing and food in the area I'm in. Basically they refer me to the
Salvation Amry or food banks. FEMA well it's been since September since they've
given me any assistance. And now I'm being told that it could take another 30 days.
The help that I gotten so for is from local sources. Now in 30 days I'll be living
in my car and eating in food lines that at one time I voluntered in. I don't think
that the people that made these donations meant for it not to get to the people that
it was intended for.
