march 5, 2006 i am from new orleans, living in north carolina presently. new orleans is and always be my home. you have to be from there to understand the living, the loving, and even the dying. it appears everyone is running around in cirles...no one wants to take hold and do anything except keep running in that circle, afraid to make a mistake. doing nothing is the biggest mistake of all, meanwhile, new orleans, with all it's wonderful people, sights, sounds, smells, etc. is slowly dying. ther is good leadership and ideas, etc. in new orleans...people who are not afraid and have some really good ideas to actually starting poor old humpty dumpth, new orleans, back together again. call sister jane remson, ever hear of noah, bread for the world, see aaron nevill, 504, 86l-5830, loyola univ., check her out. believe me she will not push any religion on y ou, boy is she effictive, been to washington numerous times. if you don't call her, trust me new orleans or whoever the so called powers that be do not want to be fixed. she is very passionate and fierce about soo many ills in this country. if you are from new orleans, you surely know her, if not it is not too late. trust me she does not need a resume or reference list, but check around if you must. next, talk to charlie foti, attorney general, once again this man needs no introdction...charlie is a great leader in his own rightnot afraid to step on a few toes if necessary, step on toes, not stomp.if you can find alvin sargent, bill hunter, and steve ritfro, add them to your list, all expert in their fields...al, retired state revenue supervisor, bill was, may still be head of orleans parish sheriff's office central lock up, and steve does marketing and feasibility, lots in new orleans but also out of state...steve did the projections for the world fair, here and tenn., just for openers.onward, there was a big report done by capt. don brisalaro, report was requested by one of the governors, long. find this report and you will probably find some of the solutions you appear to be so desperate for.hope this will be followed through on, e-mail me if i can be of any other assistance.i love new orleans no matter how beaten, battered, and maybe scarred. it was my home and the city and it's people were good to me. there is a way, find and identify a person not afraid of the big boys nor the people...and someone, again, not afraid to make a mistake.

My wife & I spent two weeks assisting in animal rescue in Louisiana. We met a lot of wonderful people and hope we helped in some small way. However, we are appalled at the St. Bernard Parish scandal involving the killing of dogs left by owners being evacuated and told their animals would be taken care of. If in fact deputy sheriffs were involved they should be prosecuted and at the very least the Sheriff of the Parish should be trying to get to the facts of this deplorable act. We feel the citizens of Louisiana deserve better than they are getting from the officials in St. Bernard Parish. We have started advising our list of people throughout the U.S. we worked with in Louisiana of this matter and quite frankly they are appalled it could happen. Good luck to the everyday folks in Louisiana that have suffered so much...as to the likes of the so-called law enforcement personnel in St. Bernard Parish...may you never need help or assistance from us.
